Known as the mini wolfcreek, definitely on the harder side in term of difficulty. Condition was excellent when I visited and probably one of the best in Vegas. Green rolls true and fast, better use the practice green wisely before the round ...which I didn't. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Shout out to John at the pro shop Erik at the range and Doug at the bag drop. You guys made this place an perfect Vegas getaway
I do not recommend Rio Secco. I didn’t like the design and it’s very expensive. I prefer walking and carrying my bag when I play golf but Rio Secco was very awkward and uncomfortable. Even though I had a golf cart that day, the walk to the tees, greens and fairways were long, hilly and sometimes over pebbles which made it harder. It just didn’t have a good flow and I don’t know why the fairways were not mowed. I will never go back there.
This was my first time playing in the USA and what a golf course this is.
The staff in the pro shop were very helpful and was absolutely immaculate. I picked up the rental set of club outside the front of the clubhouse by the golf carts and proceeded to an amazing grass and sand driving range. Balls were readily available on the range which conveniently had a halfway house in front of it to grab snacks and drinks.
The course was in great condition and was a tough test for a 13 handicapper in myself. I played from the white tees. The greenkeeping staff out on the course were very friendly and said hi whenever I passed them. The surrounding views were stunning and was an amazing day.
The pro shop had a huge variety of apparel, golf clubs, shoes, gloves, balls, accessories etc.
I forgot the two guys working in the shop, I think it was Joe and chase but they were so friendly and helpful and even gave me and my wife a free drink token for the restaurant.
Highly recommend!
This is the best course I have played in Vegas so far. The fairways were in perfect shape nice and plush. Greens were great too. Awesome scenery around the course and views of the city. Staff were all very friendly. Food was good.
Played this course last February, it's a very fun and difficult challenge. For my golf game it was a bit more difficult as it's very much an accuracy type of golf course. Fairways are a premium here and are essential to finding your way around here.
The views are great! You can see the strip several times throughout your round and the course was in very good shape. It was a colder day so I had the course to what I felt like was just myself which made it very peaceful and enjoyable. Definitely recommend playing here for a challenge with accuracy.
The clubhouse and food here are also top notch! All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
I didn't expect to see a gem of a golf course like this one, on this side of the city - I thought all the prestigious golf courses were located in Summerlin. Little did I know there were massive houses surrounding the golf course which made me stop the golf game for a quick minute to take in the views of the nice houses (don't worry, I didn't hold up any groups behind me). On top of that, the views of the city from this golf course was outstanding. I really enjoyed the Rio Secco "Welcome to Vegas" sign when you first arrive; it definitely sets the tone that you're on a Las Vegas (Henderson) golf course.
The golf course itself was maintained very well - the putting surface makes your ball roll true (all missed putts were 100% my fault even though during the game I blamed the greens, my putter, and anything else I could place blame on). The staff working here were awesome! Unfortunately, my wife and I didn't eat here after our round because we had dinner plans at a different location, but I'm sure we'll be back to play the course again and this time, we'll try out the restaurant.
Highly recommend this golf course to everyone visiting Las Vegas and for all locals.
I’ll first preface this review by saying the course is not, in its current state, worth five stars. But when the fairway bunker renovations are finished, it will undoubtedly be a 5-star course.
Everything about Rio Secco is fantastic, well, maybe not everything. The price surge in the valley seems to have hit the maximum here. But I get it. If people continue to pay, they will keep raising the rates. So aside from the current renovations and pricing structure, the golf is outstanding.
They have a world-class practice facility, a meticulously manicured course, some of the best views of the Vegas skyline, the Butch Harmon School, and a fantastic restaurant. The pro shop is well stocked with a wide variety of apparel and goodies to commemorate your outing.
Hopefully, one day the prices we come back to earth cause that’s the only reason I’m not playing there every month.
Beautiful golf course! with very nice views especially for anyone that here from the east coast. Very well maintained especially with the Vegas heat that we all know, no real humidity so its not extreme but still hot, greens are in great shape and rolling true, if golfers would fix there ball divots the greens would be perfect! Otherwise its in great shape pace of play was just under 4hrs. Clubhouse is great, staff very friendly, and there selection on swag is great as well. Definitely will play it again when back in town.
